Your Safety is Our Priority: Car Seat Event October 19th

Three out of four car seats are NOT used correctly, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Great Plains Auto Body cares about child passenger safety in vehicles. That’s why they are hosting a FREE Citywide Child Car Seat Check Event on Saturday, October 19th.

You can make sure you are using your car seat correctly. The event takes place from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at Great Plains Auto Body, 14540 Grover Road, near 145th and Industrial Road.

Things to know before you go:

  • No appointment is necessary but there will likely be a line of cars to enter the event, so it’s a good idea to have some in-car activities to entertain your children while you wait.
  • Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will inspect and/or help you install your car seat(s).
  • You should plan on spending 30 minutes at GPAB per car seat once inside.
  • A tech will help you learn to properly install your car seat.

What you need to bring with you:

  1. Your children – expectant parents are welcome
  2. Two large towels per child seat
  3. Vehicle owner’s manual and car seat manual
  4. Spouse, relative or friend to help

“We see family automobiles come in after accidents and have long been concerned for families and their safety in such situations,” says Bruce Hansen, owner of Great Plains Auto Body. “Auto Body for Tiny Bodies is our way of giving back to the community, and we genuinely encourage the public to learn the approved manner in which to install these important safety devices for their children.”
