TIMELINE
1988 The Beginning
Bruce and Joyce Hansen founded Great Plains Auto Body in November 1988 as a family owned and operated auto body repair shop. We first opened our doors in Omaha, Nebraska in a 5000 square foot leased facility at 78th and F Street. In 1992, 2,500 square feet were added. In 1996, we purchased the 17,000 square foot building and 3 and 1/2 acres of land, which currently serves as the first of our three locations.2000 The Addition
In 2000, we underwent a major addition to the repair facilities (adding 12,000 square feet), as well as an extensive remodel to the administrative offices. Along the way, we have found hard working employees who believe in the high level of auto body repair service we want to provide.2007 The Growth
In 2007, we opened a second location in the Lake Manawa area of Council Bluffs, Iowa. This location helps us serve our friends and customers in Western Iowa and Eastern Nebraska, and is easily accessible from I-80.2012The Expansion
In 2012, we opened our third location on Emmet Street in Omaha near 108th and Maple. This location is conveniently located off of I-680 and Maple Street for easy access. Our Emmet Street location also has a night shift to speed up the waiting time for repair.
