At Great Plains Auto Body we understand the stress and anxiety that can come from being in a car accident. We have created a hassle-free process beginning and ending with you. As a family owned auto body shop, we don’t see you as just another vehicle in our shop, but as an individual who needs our help. After stopping your car and if possible pull out of the line of traffic; don’t forget to turn on your hazard lights. Even if no one is hurt or not “a ton” of damage, insurance companies will soon do battle, it’s a good idea to call 911. That’s the recommendation from the federal government’s website, 911.gov, which recommends calling after “a car crash, especially if someone is injured.”
It isn’t against the law to just exchange insurance information and move on. But if you call 911 or your local precinct and bring in a neutral third party to document the accident, you’ll be doing yourself a favor. If you need a tow, give us a call right away. We can help set up a tow truck to meet you at the accident and have your vehicle brought to any of our three locations. If your vehicle is drivable head where you were going and give us a call from there. You should also call your insurance company to start the claim process. (A little known tip: You are allowed to use any auto body shop you choose.)
When you and your vehicle are safely back at our shop, we’ll check your insurance for rental car coverage. Our on-site rental car service, Enterprise, can get you back to your day, worry free! Or if you need a ride we will take care of it.
If you’re worried about your claim with the insurance company, don’t panic! We’ll talk to your Insurance Representatives or Agent directly, and negotiate any issues with your claim on your behalf.
