History of Great Plains Auto Body
We have come a long way since the night Bruce and Joyce
sat down around the table with their kids to think of a name for this shop, but
family is still at the heart of our operation.
Bruce
and Joyce Hansen founded Great Plains Auto Body in November 1988 as a family
owned and operated auto body repair shop. We first opened our doors in a 5000
sq. ft. leased facility at 78th and "F" street. In 1992, 2500 sq. ft. were
added. In 1996, we purchased the 17,000 sq. ft. building and 3 and 1/2 acres of
land, that serves as our current location.
The growth did not stop there. In 2000, we underwent a major addition to the
repair facilities (12,000 sq. ft.) and an extensive remodel to the
administrative offices. Along the way, we have found excellent employees who
believe in the service we want to provide.
Bruce and Joyce's daughter Sarah worked in administration for a couple years and
now contributes to our newsletter and website, her brother Matt, who is general
manager, is overseeing day-to-day operations, his wife Erin handles human
resources and accounting, and Joyce's brother Charles manages the facility and
network operations. All of our growth has only helped us to serve you better,
and our family roots have kept us grounded.
